An overdue update!

I can't believe that Carter is 4 weeks old tomorrow...wow time flies by!!!!! Well I have been a true slacker when it comes to the blog...shame on me. I told myself I would be so good about updating & look at me. Well this isn't the best excuse but we have been so blessed with friends & family visiting & spending time with us, not to mention we have had so much fun just the 3 of us since Justin got finished up with tax season...WOOHOO...on the 15th! Too bad he is going back to work tomorrow. :( Carter & I will miss him very much!! Ok well I am going to try to catch everyone up on the past 4 weeks the best I can.

First off, here's a cute pic of Bailey sleeping on a blanket that had Carter all swaddled up in it at the hospital to learn his scent...she loved him from the start!

Here we are the day we came home from the hospital...

His first bath which of course had to be a sponge bath - poor thing was cold!

Hanging in his swing...

The Friday after we got home I thought that his color looked a little yellow & I was afraid he was getting a little jaundice so I called the ped. & they said to go ahead & bring him in to check his levels. He was at 9.1 when we left the hospital on Wed. & you have to be 10 & under to be able to leave so he was already at the higher end of the spectrum. They checked him & he had gone up to 15.2 so they said we would have to have him stay on a bili-bed (we called it his "tanning bed") for a day at the house & then they would come back & check his levels the next day & see if he still needed it or not. He was zipped up in this little pouch & had to be naked except his diaper & the only time we could take him off of it was for feedings & diaper changes. The next day his level had gone down to 11.7 so they said he still needed to be on it some but he didn't have to stay on it all the time which was wonderful b/c we had family coming over all day on Sat. & that wouldn't be fun to have them just sit there & stare at him. The next day it was back down to 10.3 or so & we were finished with the tanning bed...yea! Here are some pics of him in it...he looked so cute & pitiful all at the same time!

The cousins hanging out together for the first time...

Hadley loves to put her fingers in his mouth...too funny!

Hanging in his boppy lounger...

This was a sweet pic I took of Carter & Daddy lying on the couch together...I love these cute moments!

Hanging in his swing again...

This past Wed. Carter had his 3 week appt. at the pediatrician. He now weighs 8 lbs 11 ozs & has grown 1/2 an inch. His head circumference has increased 3/4 of an inch too so that brain is just a growing! The doc was very pleased with his weight gain as were we b/c you just never know if they are getting enough to eat when you are nursing. These pics were taken the same day when Sara & Hadley were in town for Jay's work.

This one was from bath time tonight which finally wasn't a screaming fest the entire time. :)
We are having a BLAST being parents!! Carter truly is a blessing & I can't imagine life without him.

CARTER HAS ARRIVED!!!

We went in for the induction at 6:30 am on Monday morning March 30th & Carter made his debut into the world @ 1:22 pm weighing a whopping 8 lbs 6 oz & measuring 21.25 inches long...a BIG boy!! Thank goodness I got induced when I did (the day before my due date) or else who knows how huge he would have been...Justin was 10 lbs & I was 8.3 so go figure! :) We got home yesterday afternoon & are just having SO much fun with him. It really is indescribable the love you feel for your own child...such a blessing! He is absolutely amazing!! Justin did have to go back to work today unfortunately but plans to work from home as much as possible until tax season is over...only 13 more days to go! Enjoy the pics & of course there will be TONS more to come...

Proud Daddy above & we are home from the hospital...
